it took me 10 years to find this church  E-mail

It took me 10 years to find this church when I moved down from Zimbabwe. I was beginning to think I would never find a home but God was good and He led me to Central Parks! Whooohoo! The joy, generosity, care and love I found here is what church and family are all about! There's also the awesome praise and worship, inspired teaching and unashamed calling to a higher place, a holier life and a more intimate relationship with Jesus. It's exciting. I can't wait to be together with family every week! If you're not at Central Parks you're missing out big time. Love you guys. Thanks for everything.

Living stones being built into a temple for God – this is a central theme at Central Parks. Not long ago someone painted an image of a wall made up of all different kinds of bricks / stones, and stood at the front declaring that it is an image of us at Central Parks. Another person brought a word of how we all fit together in Christ. The theme was addressed again yesterday, in Grant’s sermon of the Central Parks’ mandate.

I know I have often stood in church, and had the distinct feeling of “being built into community” here, at Central Parks. Along with that came the feeling of how much my spiritual and emotional wellbeing has an effect on, and contributes to the wellbeing of those around me. So I know that wherever I go, I will not be alone nor will I be neglected. God will see to my wellbeing, because others’ wellbeing is affected by mine, as equally, I am affected by theirs.

Thank you for your obedience, faithfulness and joy in giving financially to this house. I have been amazed at the generosity of this community.
Giving is not a topic we hear of much at Central Parks (and we should!!). It can often be one of the hardest things to do – give your tithe - especially when monthly finances are under pressure. Yet when we give, giants (of poverty, of withholding, of small thinking, etc) tumble. I speak from experience!!

We are on an exciting mission that will require an enormous investment of your time, talents and finances if we are going to see the Parks changed for God.
Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment to King Jesus and this cause. Don’t lose heart or 'grow weary in well doing’ (Galatians 6:9)…we are on an exciting journey together!!

Much love
Grant for the team

We received a mandate 8 years ago to plant a church that would ‘take back the Parks’
Joshua 14:9: ‘…the land on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children forever…’

Reminder of our prophetic words:

“You will know the times and seasons in this nation and you will respond with my heart; you will be a house from which my voice of healing and insight and wisdom will flourish; you will be a house of influence and reconciliation and healing to the broken hearted. I will take you to people in the commercial world, in public eye and you will network…”
- Marion Fitz-Gibbons, October 2012

“I saw you in the river with a long, thick rope. You were each on one side of the river with the rope between you. The rope was the Word and while you were walking up stream and carrying the rope, the rope was catching people being swept downstream away from the throne. The rope never got too overcrowded as the river would just get bigger, everyone was together heading toward the throne…”

What do we mean by taking back the Parks?

Last week I was walking on campus and I passed a girl- she had her head down on a table. I had a thought that I should check if she's okay but dismissed it. I went on my way to do what I needed to do and passed her again on my way back, and again had the thought that I should maybe pray for her. I dismissed it again (how silly we are sometimes to ignore Holy Spirit's voice, yet He is still so patient with us :). I was almost on the other side of campus when I couldn't ignore Him any longer. I went back and asked the girl if she was okay. She said she had a major migraine so I asked if I could pray for her. She paused and I thought she was going to say no, but instead she started crying and told me how she couldn't believe it- just before I had come up to her she was praying for God to send her a sign that everything was going to be alright. She was supposed to have completed her degree that day but there was a delay in one of her subjects- her results said she had failed it but she knew that she couldn't have since she did so well in her other subjects. It's amazing that WE can be God's answer to someone's prayer! So we prayed and the next day she went to her faculty and they said that one of the students had been condoned. The name of the student wasn't revealed but they revealed the mark and it was her exact mark! So now we are just waiting for confirmation that it is her.
